Feather E-Mail: clive (at) davros (dot) org Statement: While usenet may not be important in the grand scheme of things, it's probably the part of the Internet I'd miss most were it not here. I'm re-standing partly on the basis of having caused very little harm during my tenure on the Committee, and partly as I strongly believe "uk." still has value, and provides a good model of how netnews should 'be'. ======================================================================== Candidate B Name : Charles Lindsey E-Mail: chl (at) clerew (dot) man (dot) ac (dot) uk Nominators Name : Wm.. Only partly due to me, and largely due to the members of the two organisations, this was speedily accomplished, after which things quieted down. And down... and down... This does not necessarily mean that this will remain the case forever. Back then, we could not foresee the current slump; and now we cannot foresee the future. In one or two years' time, things may be buzzing again. I look forward to that buzz. So I am putting myself forward for re-election, in the hope that things will come alive again, and that there will be (as there once was) so much concentrated and fascinating work on the Committee mailing list that it will be a struggle to find time to read all my newsgroups! ======================================================================== Votetaker's Comments Barry:- This is the second time in three years that there has been no need to hold an Election (the previous occasion having been in 2008), though at least all three vacancies were filled this time round. Whilst not having to run an Election makes our job as votetakers easier, it would have been nice to see some more candidates tossing their names into the ring. Other than the one person listed in the summary of emails received, that submitted a partially filled nomination form, the rest of the process has run smoothly. Pedt:- I agree with Barry's comments above. ======================================================================== Voting and Appeal Information This vote was conducted by neutral third party members of UKVoting.
