Sorry about the length of time this took to count. This was partly due to real life intruding, but also the closeness of the vote meant more careful checking than normal. Pass 2 of the count is logically equivalent to performing a Condorcet count between the AV winner and the status quo. [While it looks clear-cut at first glance, investigating later preferences may convince you that it isn't.] Only two ballots failed to make it through the auto-parsing code - neither was really mal-formed. In one case the ']' was missing from the real name line, in the other all the white space between the option name and the '[' was missing. The code now handles these cases. Disallowed Votes ================ hilde@remove_this.borve.demon.co.uk Spamblock (ACK bounced) djones@remove_this.borve.demon.co.uk Spamblock (ACK bounced) ncf@remove_this.borve.demon.co.uk Spamblock (ACK bounced) I really expected some follow-up mail, especially considering the discussion that was going on in unnc at the time, but none appeared. Obviously, I cannot treat a ballot specially just because I happen to know where it really comes from (which of course goes for all voters, not just those from borve). - -- Malcolm Mladenovic - Volunteer Votetaker, UK-VOTING. voting@mort.demon.co.uk please use mbm@acm.org for personal mail UK-VOTING web pages are at http://www.harlech.demon.co.uk/ukvoting.htm voting@mort.demon.co.uk PGP key: http://www.mort.demon.co.uk/pgp/voting.asc -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3i Charset: latin1 iQCVAwUBNMDRPGrgO5yjpT05AQEUMgP/X/ZO2/hBP9ETxIIo5tZhQgqhFumpIx2b LBVa7aS3etaPiI5XXUzGLGNM16KGpONDnn4hK6cjt/XCrbtHv8x3HCkNocn9RpNc H5E1/xNXmFYrIXQXpCSX6Q44ttsSji11pr6rDp8dr60g2ZjPJZqTqwoK0ooZnraB YaUwtqROllk= =13zM -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
